Featured RED-E Driver: Karl Olson

Karl is 14 years old and resides in the beautiful state of Washington. He began racing at 8 years on dirt oval and won the Jr. 1 Championship with a KT100 and Buller Aero. At 12 he moved up to shifter karts with an Italsistem engine. Now at 14 he is racing asphalt oval on a Buller Velocity. This is a real nice kart!! (A lot of work went into this.) His first practice session with this kart was at McMinnville, Oregon where he set fastest lap time of 12.87 sec. His engine is a modified clone and this is his first experience with a four stroke. He said "This is pretty fun!"

His Dad and crew is Ken Olson. Karl thinks his Dad is the smartest guy he has ever met and couldn't find a better racing partner. When Karl is not racing he and Dad are working on a 1972 SS El Camino which should be really sweet when they get it fully restored. Overall it appears that Karl is just happy that school is out so there will be more time for racing.
